Some Drawlings!
Hello hello. Time for another update! I’m back in the States now, hooray! It sure is cool.
New Update, OH MEH GAWD
So hey, I’ve been busy! Not only have I been married since like, January, I’m also in Iraq! Holy crap! I really should probably update these kinds of infos more often, eh?!? So here’s some recent stuff, including a sketch page, a random comic page, and some logo ideas:
Life Drawing!
Went to a life drawing thing last night for like 13 dollars that I did not pay but instead a Lovely Lady did. There wasn’t any instruction but they had two people sit there while we drew, so that was cool. I’ll have to read up on working with pencil and I need pay more attention to form rather than shape or whatever, as usual. Muddied up my values big time, erhg.
Dude totally turned his head halfway into this, ehdfhsf. I’m slow, ten minutes for dude’s face, twenty for lady sitting. “Gestures” are all 1 minute.

To Do List!
This is my current to do list, in order of precedence, hurrah! Mostly for my own reference, for sooth.

Turn Off
Turn off your computer. Turn off your cellphone. Put down the DS and put away the PSP. Stow away your PS3 controllers and shut off the Xbox. Switch the lights off and unplug the television. Put down all your books and tuck away the keys to your car. Consume nothing outside of food, and only eat three times a day. Don’t partake in a single snack. Drink only water.
Now pick up a pencil. Pick up a pen. Start writing, or drawing, or running, or crafting. Create. Bring something new into the world, even if its been done before. Learn, forget, survive. Don’t just coast and dwell in complete apathy.
Stop worrying about anything at all because worrying does nothing. Be cautious; it’s much more constructive and prevents mistakes of stupidity. Understand that around the world people have it worse than you. Understand that in the very country you are in, many people have it worse than you. It could be worse.
It could be worse.
It could be worse.
Sleep when you can and stay up just as often.
Take chances.
Remember your past but do not dwell on it for a single moment.
Live.
Art oh my!?
So instead of writing anything meaningful here at the moment, I’ll post some more art junk! And yes, I’ll break the h-scroll again. I fully intended to sleep tonight about three hours ago but got suddenly into a drawing mood.

Living Sketchily
So lately I’ve been sketching with a vigor that I haven’t felt in ages. Sure, some of these are from a week or so ago, but overall I have been drawing a lot more the last month than I have been in a long time. Sure, there isn’t a lot of completed stuff in what I do, but it’s practice and that’s something I can always use more of.

Pen and Paper, hurrah.

Thicker pen, thicker lines, woo!

Oui oui, le sketches.

People in motion!
So kind of a dump, but that’s the way it is!
Real World
Who uses the real world anymore? It’s obsolete, right?
Cases in point: The other day I watched as a young woman used her iMac laptop to put on makeup and freshen up. She turned on the webcam and skipped the cramped confines of an airplane’s bathroom. On the ground, people every day use digital means for their communication, separating the contact with their friends and family by a larger and larger distance. I watch as people withdraw into online games instead of pursuing a game of frisbee on a sunny day. Often, in a dorm room situation or barracks room with military, groups of four to ten people sit in their rooms playing on computers and game systems rather than hanging out personally, together.
It’s amazing what people will pay for.
Think about it for a second. How much do you have to pay in order to enjoy yourselves with some pals? Zero would be the appropriate answer. Go outside, take a walk down the street to a park and maybe hike around some trails. Okay, perhaps you’ll have to drive somewhere to do the same, but that’s still a price of only five dollars in gas? Last I checked, if you have a car then you’ll be spending that money on it anyway. It’s like all the kids that have gaming accounts yet don’t use them during every waking moment. 90 percent of the time you’re paying for something you don’t use. Yet, if you don’t use your car for a month the gas really doesn’t go anywhere. Sure, maybe a millimeter evaporates or something, but that’s negligible. Going outside and enjoying life, real life, in the real world, is much cheaper.
How many times do we find ourselves bored a day? How many times would it be simple to pick up a pen and write, or draw? Boredom is a self-created state of mind. You’re only bored when you’re too lazy to put forth effort. This is why television and games are so popular; the effort required for entertainment is minimal; nearly zero.
Zero effort or zero dollars. I guess that’s really the choice we make.
